Staci Sherri NYFW Debut a “SUCCESS”!

From Magical Dreams to a Colossal Reality, February 12, 2012 250 pairs of eyes were focused on New York-based, emerging designer Staci Sherri as she debuted “TIME,” her Autumn/Winter 2012 collection, at New York Fashion Week. Staci danced her way through time periods 50s, 60s and 70s with the collection. The collection updated classic silhouettes while keeping the signature staples of Staci Sherri. In this collection she played with texture, color blocking, metallics and prints.

As each model sached down the runway, Staci Sherri mantra rang true “When I grow up, I want to be just like me” as each one owned their look. With a high-shine pompador with a loose fish bone braid going up the back.

In attendance were Hollywood Hino (VH1), Dwight Eubanks (RHOA) and Eryn Woods (Recording Artist) and a host of over 26 different members of media.

The "Victorian" Dress and Staci Sherri also got a chance to shine at the Epilepsy Foundation of Long Island’s 27th Purple Diamond Gala. She donated the "Victorian" Dress to the charity.

The Epilepsy Foundation of Long Island’s 27th Purple Diamond Gala was entitled “A Salute to the Royals." The event supported the mission and work of EFLI, a 50 plus year organization that started because of a families love for their child and a desire to provide them with a better quality of life to serving over 11,000 individuals and their families across Long Island.

Staci felt compelled to donate the dress to the organization's event because she aims to spread love in any capacity she can. The "Victorian" Dress was perfect for the occasion because it was a salute to the royals.

Staci grew up in a household where both of her parents loved sports and through the years, she’s befriended many athletes. Thus, it seemed almost inevitable that Staci Sherri would also fall in love with the game.Every season is a different sport season. All the sports, including football, basketball, baseball, soccer, tennis and hockey, are represented throughout the year. Seeing a game brings Staci Sherri joy. She fuels off the energy and excitement the game brings.

Once, Staci saw David Beckham kick the soccer ball into the goal. To her, his kick was not a typical kick; it was something magical. Staci saw more than a soccer ball. She imagined beautiful things, like the octagon shape on the soccer ball being quilting detail on a Victorian dress.When Serena William’s would hit the tennis ball, Staci saw how great the lines on that tennis ball were and how they would be great piping detail on a few garments. She examined the shape of the tennis racket and how tightly it had been woven. The dramatic, over-sized shoulder pads the football players used and knee pads gave her structure. Touch down! Staci Sherri Inc., a New York City based fashion label established by Staci Sherri in May of 2010, has really taken flight in the brief year since its inception.

Staci, Staci Sherri Inc.'s founder, President and Designer, matriculated at the International Academy of Design and Technology in Tampa, Florida, earning her Bachelor of Science and Fine Arts degree in 2007. She had dreams of the Big Apple, thus she headed up to the East Coast as soon as she graduated from college.

This past weekend’s dreary weather didn’t slow down Team Staci Sherri and

LOUGITT Media's interview with professional boxer and celebrity trainer “Hollywood” Hino for the “Behind the Seams” documentary. Entering the Greenwich Village doors of Trinity Boxing Club, the S.S. Crew were greeted with high-energy background music, the motiving voices of trainers pushing their clients, and pounding gloved fist to hanging punching bags. All the positive waves surged through the air filling the S.S. Crew with more then enough energy to head into the ring with Hino for a friendly round of interview questions.

There is no better time to have the power of love from friends and family like a baby shower. This Past weekend Team Staci Sherri traveled to Washington D.C. to help The Nash Family celebrate the highly anticipated arrival of Ms. Amber Nash.

Traditionally baby showers are only attended by woman in the intent to give wisdom and lessons on the art of motherhood, but with time comes growth. Team Staci Sherri broke away from traditional restrictions, remixing the baby shower with a co-ed guest list. With men in attendance bringing the the spirit of protection, and fatherly love filling the room.

As guest arrived, and were greeted with a warm hello followed by the rules to the pacifier game. Each were given a necklace with a tiny pacifier attached to wear throughout the event. While wearing the necklace they were not allowed to say the words "Mommy", "Baby", "Mother to Be" or "Girl", if said the person who heard them must takes their necklace. Whomever collected the most pacifiers by the end of the shower won a Prize.

Once seated guest filled out their "Amber Nash"menu cards, and enjoyed glasses of "Amber Nash" champagne while snacking on fun shaped fruits, fresh tossed salad, and New England Clam Chowder while their main course was prepared.

Soulful music filled the room as guest filled their belly's and transitioned in to games and desserts.
Staci Sherri ( Sister of the beautiful mother to be Alinda Nash ) assumed the role of Host for the evening and lead everyone in baby shower games "What's in Mommy's belly", "Smelly Do", and many more while every one enjoyed creative white chocolate lollipops from "Ona O Sweets" by Ona Davis, and tasty red velvet cup cakes provided by "GeorgeTown Cupcakes " from T.L.C. Networks "D.C. Cupcakes". Prizes ranged from gas and restaurant gift card, to custom made "SS Brand Tees" which winners immediately fell in love with and changed into soon as the received the Tee.

The shower concluded with the proud parents Vernon and Alinda Nash opening the swell of gifts they with their guest, sharing their appreciation and love with every one in attendance. Smiles beamed from their faces as each package was revealed and read cards containing words of love and support.

Though Staci Sherri is a fairly young brand the demand is growing like wild fire. The SS brand was in full effect as Celebrity Hair Stylist Derek J. wore a beautiful custom made tuxedo Jkt & Pant by Staci Sherri during his "Hair Battle" on "E! Red Carpet Oscars Edition". The tuxedo Jkt sparkled thanks to the Swarovski Crystals (by Custom Tee Couture) catching the light as Derek J. displayed his skills all the while wearing his signature pair of stilettos.

Staci Sherri was over whelmed with joy to see one of her garments being worn on the 83rd Academy Awards red carpet and E! Network later tweeting:

Relocating to Atlanta, Georgia, from Ohio, the flamboyant Derek J. has taken over the city and corned the hair market. Over the years, Derek has earned many hair battle titles , worked on numerous music video sets, editorial campaigns, and runway shows. As his popularity grew Derek J. acquired a large celebrity cliental, such as actress Nicole Ari Parker, and songtress Angie Stone who frequent his salon "J Spot" for innovative hair styling.

His popularity caught the attention of Chris Rock, who featured Derek in his acclaimed documentary "Good Hair" based on the african american hair industry. Derek later appeared on Bravo's hit reality show "Real House Wives of Atlanta" as Kim Zolciak's wig technician and soon be came a staple member of the cast. Staci recently got the powerful 4 letter word "Love" tattooed on her hand in her favorite color, purple.

Staci believes that God is love, which is one of the inspirations behind her new tattoo. She chose purple because it's her favorite color, but it's also the color of royalty, denoting luxury, wealth and sophistication. The color purple is also feminine and romantic, and Staci is a woman who's all about the romance.

When asked why that specific location, Staci explained, "this is not just a tattoo, it's a salutation of my love, when I salute someone that's my highest praise."

Speaking of salutations, Staci always gives "much love & respect" by saluting our soldiers as they fight for our country and safety daily. Her mom & grandfather were both in the military, and she has a close friend and friends of friends over in Iraq as we speak.

You gotta love a women with passion and meaning. Staci's new tattoo makes me think of Trey Songz video for his song "Yo Side of The Bed," featuring Keri Hilson.

Staci ate brunch at the Wynn Hotel, which she described as "the best brunch that leaves a sweet taste in your mouth." The Wynn is one of the most expensive buffets in town, but it's also one of the best. The beautiful garden setting with small rooms gives the place a more intimate feel. Unlike most buffets, this one is highly interactive, with many of the dishes made just for you to your specifications. It's worth the cost!

Later in the day, Staci ate dinner at Tao Restaurant, which also has a location in New York City. It is considered to be one of the best restaurants in Vegas, offering Pan-Asian cuisine in a vibrant, upscale setting. Fusing Chinese, Japanese and Thai cuisines, the menu at Tao Las Vegas can please varying palates. The Cosmopolitan has only been open for a month and one of NYC hottest clubs, Marquee, lives inside the hotel. A house isn't a home without love and Staci loves some House Music. She partied to the sounds of Celebrity Dj Erick Morillo, as he debuted a new song and confetti fell from the roof. The new song, "Live your life," features Shawnee Taylor.

After a successful photo shoot, Staci Sherri took over Brooklyn, New York with her crew — Gabriel Charles, Amber Sams and Deva Fulcher of Team Staci Sherri, Toni Monique (Staci's Beauty Team Hairstylist and Best friend), Glen Graham (Talented Videographer), and Rahsonn Williamson and Corey, her boys. The group experienced a few priceless moments lighting up Brooklyn with their presence.

Le’Ron McClain: Rushing Towards Success

Le’Ron McClain (#33), an American football fullback for the NFL’s Baltimore Ravens, boasts a rather successful career thus far. This year alone, he held the Ravens’ third all-time record for rushing touchdowns (12). However, this is nothing new for McClain who was considered one of the best fullbacks available in the 2007 NFL Draft, where he was drafted as the 137^th pick during the fourth round by the Baltimore Ravens.

Le’Ron’s family must be breeding football players — his cousin Rolando McClain plays for the Oakland Raiders. He played high school football at Tuscaloosa County High School in his hometown, Tuscaloosa, AL. After high school, McClain went on to the University of Alabama as a fullback and drew comparisons to players, such as William Henderson.

Le’Ron has continually rushed into success in his career on the football field. On Dec. 29, 2009, McClain was voted to his second consecutive Pro Bowl as the fullback for the AFC. This year, he is nominated to be a potential member of the AFC team once again for the Pro Bowl. If Le’Ron is elected, this will be his third consecutive year in the Pro Bowl. McClain is set to celebrate the New Year and his birthday by hosting a party at the Sheraton Inner Harbor Hotel in Baltimore, MD, on Friday, Dec. 31, 2010. The birthday bash begins at nine that night and runs until two o’ clock the following morning. Some of the hottest DJ’s in Baltimore will grace the 1’s and 2’s, including DJ Tanz, Kenny K, Mike Crosby, Lil Mic and DJ Titan. The party also features a Ciroc open bar from the moment the doors open until 11 PM, a gourmet buffet, champagne toast and balloon drop at midnight, a fireworks viewing on the venue’s terrace and appearances by other local celebrities and Baltimore Ravens.

Staci Sherri: Behind the Fashion

Sometimes when an individual excels in a specific field, such as Staci Sherri has with fashion, people try to limit that individual to just that specific field. She has lived her mantra "When I grow up, I want to be just like me." Staci Sherri refuses to be confined to a box. More existence behind Staci Sherri, the woman and the brand, than just fashion.

Staci Sherri as a toddler; even back then LOVE was all over her

Born in Baltimore, Maryland, Staci's passion for fashion and beauty blossomed at an early age. As a child she went to the hair salon with her mom and sister whom she watched closely and used as inspiration to develop her own style. In the salon, she encountered and became fascinated with many women who wore beautiful clothes and detailed hairstyles. These early experiences were the seeds for the future designer to grow.

One of Staci's major inspirations in love, which derives from her strong connection with her family. "Having my mother and my older sister around really helped me grow," Staci said. She used her mother and sister as inspirations and guides through creating her own style and label. Her sister was smart, mature and classy, which taught Staci how to be a lady and keep herself up. "My mom use to always tell me, to be nice and people liked sweet, cute little girls, not grown ones." This guidance led Staci down a narrow, straight path towards success.

Her father and younger brother were also there as inspirations who pushed Staci forward. "My dad had a classic style and my brother is the rebel," Staci said. She used situations with her older brother to craft her newest line, Magical Black, while her dad has always stood as a reminder for her to stay true to herself.

Staci is multidimensional and people may not know a few things about her before the emergence of her brand. She was in a dancing group since age six, where she danced for major and local shows around Baltimore. She worked in a hair salon throughout her childhood and modeled in middle and high school fashion shows. Staci even prepared her first collection with the help of her mom in her freshman year of high school, where she was the coordinator of the fashion show and modeled her own designs. These experiences inspired Staci to design.

The seeds of fashion had been planted early on in Staci's life. Her desire to work in the fashion industry led her to Tampa, Florida, where she attended and matriculated from the International Academy of Design and Technology, earning her Bachelor of Science and Fine Arts degree in 2007. Her experience at the university equipped her with an unparalled creative flair that would set her apart in the real world.

After her graduation, Staci Sherri impressed design teams as an intern at Beckerman and RocaWear. Later, she lended her design expertise to "Dereon" by House of Dereon brand, her first real industry job, and assisted the LRG brand with the development of their "Luxirie" denim line.

For Staci Sherri, it was a long, yellow brick road to this point, but it was a great journey. Now Staci Sherri has branded herself into a fashion line, featuring inspirations drawn from love, butterflies and the beauty of a woman's body. She has officially taken flight, soon coming to a destination near you.

Fashion Stylist Goes Hard

“Go hard and then go harder. Never stop and then go harder than that,” said Sakeya Donaldson, a celebrity fashion stylist on the rise, about her life mission. She drew her passion for styling from her childhood experiences in Tampa, Florida. “[As a child,] I knew I wanted to work in fashion, but I did not know to what capacity I wanted to be involved in the industry,” Sakeya said. She recalls her first encounter with fashion at the age of thirteen, which opened the door to her desire to style: “I was thirteen and my father came to visit. He took me shopping and brought me a Gloria Vanderbilt outfit. The collection had thirty pieces, and every time one of my family members went shopping, they brought me one more piece until I had the entire collection.” Years after sporting Gloria Vanderbilt, Ms. Donaldson has made a name for herself in the fashion industry, with a professional career spanning over seven years.

Recently, Sakeya received a nomination for Fashion Stylist of the Year in the Atlanta, Georgia region. The award is given to top fashion stylist in the fashion Meccas of the United States as a symbol of their success and brilliance. “It was really cool to be awarded because this year was one of my more successful years in my career,” Sakeya said.

In an age where almost everyone claims to be a fashion stylist, Sakeya Donaldson stands apart from the wannabes. Her versatility with styling clientele demonstrates her strength as a fashion stylist. According to Sakeya, “I have dressed a large range of people because as a stylist, you have to be able to step outside of yourself.” She understands that styling is about the client first, which she learned from her mentor, Tameka Raymond.

Sakeya’s portfolio boasts collaborations with celebrities, such as Nicki Minaj, Diamond, Ciara, Dondria, The Real Housewives of Atlanta, Patti Labelle, T.I., Lyfe Jennings, Raven Symone, Brandy, Ray J and Jay-Z. She recently worked with Staci Sherri on styling a new group, Militant Military?, in their debut video for their single “Ms. AllDaWayLive.” According to Sakeya, “With Military it was really cool because they are from my hometown. I wasn’t expecting much, but I was really impressed by Soljah and his crew and how they set up the entire production. It was more professional than many of the projects I have done with celebrities and major companies.”

Her relationship with Staci goes back further than this video shoot. Staci Sherri was one of the volunteers who assisted Sakeya with one of her first fashion shows in Tampa. “She was so young and she had so much hustle,” Sakeya said. Sakeya took Staci under her wings and helped her make leeway in the fashion industry. Now both women are well accomplished, which gratifies Ms. Donaldson.

Sakeya loves to help aspiring fashion stylists and designers. When asked to give some advice to aspiring stylists, Sakeya said, “First, you should have good credit. When you first start out, if you don’t have connections, you may have to buy things yourself. The key to being a good stylist is a vast network. Those are just life skills.” After dropping some knowledge to aspiring fashionistas, she also spoke about what separates an aspiring stylist from a professional stylist: “If you can support yourself, then you’re doing it. You cannot be a stylist, a waitress at night and a dancer on the weekends. That does not go together.” Sakeya uses her ambition to push her forward; from first-hand experience, she knows that the fashion industry can eat you alive. She has been able to transcend many obstacles that trip aspiring fashion stylists because of her strong spirit and undying grind.

Right now, Sakeya works with Control Magazine, with whom she just shot the December issue cover with Raven Symone. This upcoming week she will style Brandy in a shoot for a piece about her and Ray J, whom she has already styled. In addition, Ms. Donaldson will soon open a show room for stylists in Atlanta, where she currently resides, entitled Pull. She sees the need and demand for a fashion center in Atlanta, and so she challenges herself to be the first one to meet that need.

Her first collection, "Papillon Amour," which means "Butterfly Love," featured butterfly and heart inspired ruffles and cuts. Music’s New Crusaders Have Arrived and They Are Rather Militant

Militant Military? (??M??) has declared a crusade on Hip Hop, first conquering the local scene in Tampa, Florida, now the nation and next the world. The new and rising Hip Hop group forging its own unique way to success needs no introduction. The crew consists of five members — Soljah, an emcee and the team’s leader, Ms. Williams, the star vocalist, and emcees A-M-P, State, Militia. Also on deck for the ride is J.O., the group’s producer.

According to Soljah, “The group’s name originated before the group. We all introduced each other to each other. Now we are working to establish ourselves as international recording artists and use the resources we gain from that to enhance ourselves as individuals and a collective.” ??M?? is a big puzzle with each individual member and accomplishment being a piece that makes the puzzle come together. The question marks in the groups symbol represent the unknown before and after in life, while the letter “m” stands for the unity of the Military. It seems like the group was destined for greatness.

Ever since he could remember, Soljah had music in his soul. “[My love for music came from] my intuition. It is something that happened at a young age. I remember walking home from school in the fifth grade and trying to freestyle to my friend. I just did it,” said Soljah. This same spirit has guided ??M?? to success. The group masters blending their life stories with hot beats and catchy hooks, making them a force to reckon with in today’s music industry.

If you were to try to categorize Militant Military?’s music, you would slap a label with the word “conscious” across their sound. “Even if we do some party music, we do it based upon what happens in real life. We base our music off of who we really are,” said Soljah. The group has a simple process to creating music that draws in listeners. According to Soljah, “[Our music comes from our] mood at the time we write. It’s everything from personal reality to current events. We wake up, walk out the door and process.” Think of their music as their conscious method of writing their collective autobiography as they live. It is apparent that people are receptive to their music and approach to telling their stories.

After achieving success from their first mixtape No Better Friend, No Worst Enemy the group continued to amaze audiences with the release of their single, “Ms. AllDaWayLive.” Recently, Militant Military? beat out five other contenders with its hit video for the single. The popular song won a spot in the music video rotation on MTVU’s premier network show “The Freshman Show.” The song’s video features designs from Staci Sherri and styling by Sakeya Donaldson. The group decided that the video should feature a fashion show to depict "Ms. AllDaWayLive" as a woman with style no matter where she is. “The video was like a big fashion show. Staci Sherri was in control of the entire fashion aspect. I didn’t have to ask any questions or speak to any models. She was seriously like a little drill sergeant. Staci is good at what she does,” said Soljah. “Sakeya had us looking fresh. The style was still us. Working with both of the ladies was great.” ??M?? has been successful at creating a name and marketable image for themselves in the music and fashion world. The groups boasts a fresh look and sound.

Like most of the group’s music, “Ms. AllDaWayLive” stems from their personal lives. One day standing at the bus stop, Soljah encountered a young woman with noted curves. Soon after he heard a DJ say, “We’re coming to you all the way live,” and he put two and two together, conjuring the party banger and title, “Ms. AllDaWayLive.” The rest was history.

Even though Militant Military?’s status as MTV’s Freshman winner signifies a major accomplishment in their careers, the group remains humble. “It’s just another piece of the puzzle — a big piece of the puzzle. It’s exciting but we still have to grind,” said Soljah. They are currently writing and working on a new album, looking into making a deal with a major record label and continuing to push “Ms. AllDaWayLive.”

Music, fashion and cleverly mixed drinks flowed through Katra Lounge for The JunQui blog party this past Thursday. Katra Lounge seemed right at home on Bowery only steps away from the New Museum exhibit, electrifying the air with artistic energy. Entering the door New York's finest socialites were carried away to the Middle East with the venue's Moroccan influenced flare. Seductively dim lighting enhanced the rich tones of red and mahogany throughout the lounge. Dj Big Reef gave life to the dance floor keeping every one out of their seats and grooving. From beginning to end, The JunQi celebration embodied everything the blog stands for: MUSIC.FASHION.ART.CREATIVITY. Fun times all around.~

Positive vibes gushed through the SoHo Room during Staci Sherri’s Magical Black Social this past Wednesday. The SoHo Room’s dim lighting fell across the room, adding an intimate atmosphere to the venue. The staff's amazing service allowed the team to gather in a comfortable setting to share laughs, drinks and best of all ice cream cake. Creative minds flowed with stories of personal experiences and ideas, making the social a perfect balance of development and pleasure.

The SoHo Room is the perfect place to go after a long work day, heavy shopping trip or just to escape from the world for a few hours.

When asked why she loves the SoHo Room, Staci Sherri stated:

After a day of long day or shopping in SoHo I like to stop by the SoHo Room for a cocktail. The staff is very friendly, the customer service is great and the bartenders are beyond exceptional. I love the cozy feel the venue gives me; it reminds me of Cheers.

He blends Hip-Hop, R&B, Reggae, Pop, Gospel, and Club to create a unique sound. DJ Moeskieno states that his music addiction began in the home of church, soul, liquor and love. From these sources of inspiration, he hit the streets mixing at a young age and looking to perfect his craft. Recently, DJ Moeskieno became the official DJ for G-Unit’s own Shadyville and Most Hated Records. He also does work with DMX’s former DJ, DJ Superior, who is now the CEO of Most Hated Records.
